Jeremy Scott Idlewine, age 55, of Alexandria, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in Indianapolis after an extended illness. Born July 7, 1971, to Dennis and Linda (Hunt) Idlewine, Scott was a man who did things his own way. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1989 and soon after enlisted in the United States Army, where he worked as an attack helicopter repairman. He earned several honors, including the Army Service Ribbon, Aircraft Crewman Badge, Driver’s Badge-W, and the Army Achievement Medal. After his service, Scott returned home and put his skills to use as a welder and fabricator. He liked things simple: fishing, camping, mushroom hunting, and spending time outdoors. His favorite place was by a campfire with a cold drink in hand. Scott was a straightforward man who lived life on his terms.

Scott is survived by 4 children, Kayla (Evan) Bunnel of Middletown, Johnathan (Priscilla) Idlewine of Orestes, Joseph Idlewine of Alexandria, and Mollie Phelps of Summitville; sister, Lori (Darrin) Cassidy of Anderson; uncle, Larry Idlewine of Alexandria; best friend, Bart Pratt of Alexandria; 9 grandchildren; 1 nephew; and 1 niece. Scott is preceded in death by his parents; and 2 uncles, Richard Idlewine, and Ron Idlewine.

Scott’s wishes were to be cremated and his family will have a celebration of his life and military service on Sunday, August 9, 2026 starting at 2:00 pm at the home of Johnathan Idlewine, 82 W.
