Jennifer M. Super, age 39 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family after a valiant 2-year battle against cancer. She was born on September 14, 1974 in Elwood, the daughter of Eddie W. Super and Becky K. (Mason) Holman. She worked for Kroger Corporation for many years in technology & administration management; and was also active in the Kroger Cultural Council. She was a 1993 graduate of Elwood Community High School, and later attended Ivy Tech College in Muncie majoring in administration. Jennifer was well-known for her determination, willpower, and strong faith. She was passionate about event planning and decorating; and was always up for a great adventure. She absolutely loved the beach and anything "beach related", and also enjoyed dancing. Jennifer fought her disease until her very last breath, and was an avid supporter of the American Cancer Society and the Relay for Life program. Most importantly, she was a devoted mother and friend to everyone.
Jennifer's family includes her parents, Becky K. (Zane) Holman and Eddie W. (Rebecca) Super all of Elwood; 2 children, Zara C. Anderson and Noah M. Werline both of Elwood; 2 brothers, Camaron Holman currently in the U.S. Army and Joshua Super (fiancé Rachael Brown) of Elwood; special companion, David Werline of Elwood; maternal grandparents, Georgia Cole of Elwood and William Mason of Bakersfield, CA; paternal grandparents, Eddie Merl (Wilma) Super of Burnside, KY; and niece, Ellie Super of Elwood.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Christine Super; maternal grandfather, Ralph Cole; aunt, Della LeMond; and uncle, Marty Hurd.
A Celebration of Jennifer's life in a "beach theme" service will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Elwood with Chaplain Rob Mifflin and Rev. Chris Dare officiating. A reception time for family and friends will be held from noon to 2:00 PM prior to the Celebration service at the church, and the Jennifer requested that no black apparel be worn – but rather bright, "beach" colors. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Memorial contributions are suggested to "Jennifer Super Memorial Fund" at Madison County Federal Credit Union. Online condolences to the family may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
