Jenetta Joyce Sullivan, age 84 of Martinsville and formerly of Elwood, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Grandview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville following an extensive illness. She was born March 20, 1927 in Elwood the daughter of Wayne V. and Mildred (Murray) Balser. She was the Head Adult Librarian at the Elwood Public Library for many years, and retired in 1992. She also formerly worked in the bookkeeping department of R.L. Leeson & Sons Department Store in Elwood until the business closed. She was a 1945 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. Jenetta married Albert Junior Sullivan on August 28, 1948. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints both the Elwood and Martinsville Branches. She moved to Martinsville in 2001 and was employed part-time in the "Experience Works" program at the Smith Elementary School Library, and retired from the program in 2004. She enjoyed caring for her home, reading, and was very devoted to reading the Bible. She loved researching genealogy and poetry. Jenetta also loved spending time with her family and all her friends - especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: 2 Daughters – Cindy Kay (husband Tom) Yaden of Martinsville and Beth Ann Lee of Tipton; Son – David Kent (wife Christy) Sullivan of Elwood; Brother – Timothy (wife Barbara) Balser of Kissimmee, FL; Sister – Beverly Miller of Kissimmee, FL; 9 Grandchildren – Tina Gentry, David Sullivan, Jenny Hunter, Chad Adair, Christopher Lee, Miracle Lee, Shelly Miller, Scott Yaden, and Tim Gentry; 12 Great-Grandchildren – Stephanie McKee Jones, Ryan Roembke, Felicia Gentry, Dylan Gentry, Chloe Sullivan, Halle Hunter, Kaylyn Miller, Michael Miller, Tyler Yaden, Ethan Yaden, Stacy Bowles, and Nick Hayes; 8 Great Great-Grandchildren – Taylor, Breanna, Aubrey, and Logan Jones, Abby, Devon, Bella, and Nevaeh Chastain; Nephew – Dan (wife Kumie) Balser of Kissimmee, FL; and Niece – Debbie Heffelmire of Cicero.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband of 48 years who died March 31, 1996 – Albert Junior Sullivan; Brother – Ralph "Sonny" Balser; and Son-In-Law – Ronald Lee in.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with President Terry Hartman and Larry Crowder of the Latter Day Saints Church presiding. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
