Obituary

Jeffrey Shane Thomas, age 42 of Anderson, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his residence as a result of an unknown health issue. He was born August 2, 1973 in Muncie, the son of Harold E. and Joyce A. (Conrad) Thomas. Jeff was currently a service technician for Tom Wood Honda in Anderson and formerly worked in the security department at Hoosier Park in Anderson. He was a 1992 graduate of Cowan High School and later served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Jeff married the love of his life, Jill A. Frantz, on May 22, 2004. Jeff was proud to have formerly served as a fire fighter for the Muncie and Frankton fire departments; and also formerly worked with the Blackford County Sheriff's Department. Jeff enjoyed watching movies and anything related to military history. Above all else, he loved spending quality time with his kids and family.

Jeff's family includes his wife of 11 years, Jill A. Thomas of Anderson; twin children, Jonathan Shane Thomas and Lily Ann Thomas at home; parents, Harold E. and Joyce A. (Conrad) Thomas of Muncie; 3 siblings, Terri (husband Eric) Smith of Dunkirk, Joseph (wife Amy) Thomas of Anderson, and Kristin (husband Jamie) Jackson of Columbus; in-laws, Douglas and Margery Frantz of Frankton; brother-in-law, Nathan Frantz of Frankton; niece, Brooke Thomas; nephew, Chase Smith; and beloved cat "Kiki". He was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A funeral celebrating Jeff's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery in Marion with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army and V.F.W. Honor Guard. Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
