Jeffrey S. "Jeff" Hughes , age 64 of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Ascension-St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood.  He was born October 14, 1958 in Indianapolis, the son of Roger and Patricia (Jones) Hughes.  Jeff attended Elwood Community School and then served in the U.S. Navy. He was self-employed and worked in the construction field for many years.  Jeff was a member of the Elwood VFW #5782.  He especially enjoyed building things with his hands, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jeff's surviving family includes 2 children, Andrew Hughes and Roger Hughes; sister, Lora Hughes (Tom Creamer); and 3 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Mike Hughes and Dan Hughes.
