Jeffrey D. Conwell , age 55 and a lifelong resident Elwood, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Ascension-St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel following an extended illness.  He was born May 9, 1967 in Elwood, the son of John E. and Marlene R. (Gardner) Conwell.  Jeff attended Elwood Community Schools.  He worked as a kitchen manager and delivery driver for different restaurants until 2015 when his deteriorating health and caring for his parents was needed.  Jeff especially enjoyed watching movies and absolutely loved music.  He had a tremendous knowledge of all types of music and could almost never be stumped as to the artist of a song, the story and meaning behind it, and the writing and recording of the song.  Jeff lived a very private life and enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was always willing to help others in need, and he felt blessed to be able to care for his parents until their passing.

Jeff's family includes his sister, Tamara L. Etchison of Noblesville; brother, Mike Conwell of Elwood; 3 nieces and nephews, Sean (Margarita) Romine of Elwood, Katie Carpenter of Tipton, and Sarah (Seth) Carpenter-Simpson of Sheridan; 8 great-nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Stephanie Morris of Elwood.  Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; and a niece, Amy Ensley.

Jeff's wishes were to be cremated with no formal services.  A private burial of ashes will take place at Elwood City Cemetery.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home has been entrusted to care for Jeff's arrangements.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
