Jeannie Renee Maddox, age 59, of Elwood, passed away from complications of a chronic illness on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Community Hospital in Anderson, surrounded by family. Born on April 7, 1967, in Anderson, she was the beloved daughter of Ervin and Norma Jean (Beeman) Jackman. Renee attended Frankton schools and dedicated her life to caring for others as a CNA at Anderson Vermillion Place for over 20 years.

Above all, Renee centered her life around her family. She found her greatest joy in being with her loved ones, especially her cherished grandchildren, whom she adored as their “Nanny.” Renee was known for always seeing the best in everyone, offering a kind word and a warm smile to all she met. Her heart of gold touched countless lives.

Renee loved the outdoors—fishing, camping, and boating were among her favorite activities. She married Tim Maddox on July 1, 2006, and they shared more than 11 years of marriage until his passing in 2017. A loyal member of Solid Rock Church in Elwood, Renee also enjoyed crocheting the latest fashion apparel for Christmas gifts with Cheryl Hartman, relaxing by her pool, spending time at home with her two dogs, and watching wrestling with lifelong friend Tracie Morris. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Renee is survived by 4 children, Christle (Mike) Head of Tipton, Chelsey Echford of Muncie, Zachary (Andrea) Hartman of Pendleton, and Nicholas (Kayla Dollar) Hartman of Elwood; brother, Michael Jackman of Elwood; 13 grandchildren, Travis Head, Craig Wilburn, Timothy Head, Hunter Head, Peacelynn Moore, Lexi Echford, Mallory Hartman, Maddox Hartman, Rynn Hartman, Deegan Hartman, Brock Cooper, Talen Cooper, and Natalie Head; and niece Jerica Jackman. Renee is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tim Maddox.

A funeral service celebrating Renee’s life will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, September 28, 2026 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Brad Collett of Solid Rock Church officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm prior to the service on Monday, September 28, 2026 at the funeral home.
