Obituary

Jean E. Cloud, age 84 of Elwood died April 21, 2011 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood after an extended illness. He was born on January 28, 1927 the son of Samuel and Marguerite (Shock) Cloud. He married Dorothy A. Nicely on April 26, 1958. He attended Elwood Schools and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elwood. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the Indiana National Guard. He worked in production at Delco Remy for 36 years and retired in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion, the United Auto Workers Union #662, and a former a member of the Elwood 50+ Club. He was an avid I.U. sports fan and enjoyed reading western books.

Survivors include: wife – Dorothy A. (Nicely) Cloud of Elwood; 3 Daughters – Krista (Dan) Haskett of Elkhart, Rhonda (Neal) Creamer of Tipton, and Judy (Edward) Swink of Frankton; 4 Grandsons –
James D. Preston of Elwood, Jack P. Preston of Elwood, Dane A. Creamer of Tipton, and Collin N. Creamer of Tipton; Great-Grandson – Austin J. Preston of Frankton; Beloved Cat – "Red"; and Several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by: Parents; 3 Sisters – Helen Hancher, Lucille Heaton, and Phyllis Welch; Brother – Sonny Cloud.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Chris Dare officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the U.S. Army and the Elwood V.F.W. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
