Janice L. Leever , age 80 of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent 86th Street Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness.  She was born May 15, 1944 in Elwood, the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Stafford) Harris.  Janice attended Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood.  As a child, Janice attended Zion Chapel Church in Elwood with her family.  Janice was great at cooking and baking, but her family especially remembers her noodles and homemade pies.  She cared for her family and enjoyed watching the little ones while their parents worked.  She always had a way of making everyone around her smile.  More than anything, Janice loved her family and she will be greatly missed.

Janice's family includes her son, Kevin Marcrum of Oakford; daughter, Kimberly Marcrum of Florida; 4 siblings, Tim (wife Debe) Harris of Kokomo, Richard (wife Cheryl) Harris of Las Cruces, NM, Judy White of Elwood, and Bill (wife Linda) Harris of DeBary, FL; 2 grandchildren, Rachael and Brent; and several nieces and nephews.  Janice was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sonny Leever; previous husband, Roy Marcrum; grandson, Carl Miller; and brother-in-law, John White.

Janice's wishes were to have a private graveside funeral service.  She will be buried next to her mother and father at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood is honored to handle Janice's funeral arrangements.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude's Children Hospital or the Elwood Animal Shelter through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
