She was born April 3, 1962 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, the daughter of James and Helen (Rose) Phipps. She was a 1980 graduate of Tipton High School. Jamie married the love of her life, Larry D. Rush, on April 25, 1981, and they shared over 38 years of marriage together. Jamie attended the Windfall Christian Church, where she and Larry were married. She liked to play games on her phone, play the lottery, and enjoyed playing card games such as Euchre, Skip-bo and Rummie. Jamie also liked to watch "Ghost Hunters", "Mountain Monsters", "Ghost Brothers", "Paranormal Lock Down", "Kindred Spirits", "NCIS", "Law & Order", "Criminal Minds", and "Chicago PD". She loved to listen to country music, especially Rascal Flatts, Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan. Jamie especially loved to take rides with Larry on their Harley Davidson motorcycle, and she had a sweet tooth for chocolate chip ice cream. More than anything, Jamie was a dedicated wife and mother who loved her family and friends with all her heart.
Jamie's family includes her husband, Larry Rush of Elwood; 4 daughters, April (husband Randy) Byrd of Kokomo, Krystal (husband Matthew) Champion of Geist, Angela Rush of Elwood, and Shelby Rush of Elwood; 4 brothers, Roger (wife Melissa) Phipps of Noblesville, Jimmy Phipps of Louisiana, Bob Phipps of Fort Wayne, and Doug Phipps of Anderson; sister-in-law, Dalita (husband Kurt) Miller of Windfall; and several nieces and nephews throughout the U.S. and Europe.
