Jack Lee Wyatt, age 70 of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 surrounded by his family at home following an extended illness. He was born August 7, 1947 in Elwood, the son of Kenneth Daniel and Mildred Faye (Rominger) Wyatt. Jack worked as a machine operator at Firestone Corporation in Noblesville for 10 years, and formerly worked at RGF Corporation in Elwood for over 20 years. He was baptized into the Christian faith early in life. Jack attended Elwood schools, and later attained numerous certifications for different employment positions through the years. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge; served in the U.S. Army for a short time; and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. Jack was an avid animal lover, and especially loved his dog, "Lucky Paws". He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and visiting casinos occasionally. More than anything, Jack will be remembered as a man who enjoyed having a good time with friends and family.
Jack's family includes 2 children, Lorrie Ruth (husband Harley) Wyatt-Perkins of Elwood, and Scott W. (wife Lisa) Vest of Elwood; brother, Robert Gene (wife Pam) Wyatt of Elwood; former spouse and devoted caretaker, Loretta (Vest) Wyatt of Elwood; 4 grandchildren, Dusty (wife Samantha) Hall, Kyle (wife Ashley) Vest, Nathan Frazee (girlfriend Anna Gardner), and Jack Michael "Jack-Jack" Wyatt; 5 great-grandchildren, Ethan Vest, Sophie Ball, Allie Vest, London Hall, and Adler Hall; and several more extended family members.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jack Wyatt, Jr.; granddaughter, Jazmin Danyell Frazee; great-grandson, Christopher Lee Vest; sister, Phyllis Waymire; brother, Kenneth Leon Wyatt; niece, Teresa Waymire; and 2 great nephews, Gary Petty and Danny Rich.
A funeral service celebrating Jack's life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Amos Carmichael officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Elwood City Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 prior to the service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home to assist Jack's family with funeral expenses.
