Jack L. Dowler, Jr. , age 57 of Winchester and formerly of Elwood, passed away following a brief courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville.  He was born April 23, 1966 in Elwood the son of Jack L. and Betty Mae (Gwinn) Dowler.  Jack was a member of the class of 1984 at Elwood High School.  He worked for many years in construction, but also dedicated part of his life to being the caregiver of his father.  Jack was naturally gifted in baseball, as he was always a star player growing up and even tried out for the Cincinnati Reds.  He enjoyed the simple things of life like being outdoors, fishing, camping, and mowing his lawn.  Everyone who knew Jack, knew he enjoyed a nice cold Busch beer after a long day of hard work.  Jack had music playing on his radio from the time he woke up, especially his classic rock stations.  More than anything, Jack will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and brother.

Jack is survived by 2 children, Kaleb Dowler of Carmel, and Nikki Dowler (David Warner) of Martinsville; 4 siblings, Jerry (wife Karen) Dowler of Winchester, Nora (husband D.J.) Dye of Thorntown, Chris (wife Tina) Dowler of Elwood, and Jenny (husband Steven) Lane of Marion; 5 grandchildren, Maddilyn Dowler, Leigha Warner, Gracelynn Warner, David Warner, Jr., and Hunter Warner; and several nieces and nephews.  Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Jack L. and Betty Mae (Gwinn) Dowler; brother, Jonathan "John" Dowler; and nephew, Jacob Dowler.
