Imogene Everson, age 85 of Elwood, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Community Northview Care Center in Anderson after an extended illness. She was born September 28,1926 in Elwood, the daughter of James and Ruth (Beeman) Toney. She worked in Production for the RCA Corporation in Marion for over 35 years before retiring in 1986. She also formerly worked at Mangas Cafeteria in Elwood for several years. She married Frances E. Everson on October 11, 1949. She was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union in Marion. Imogene enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking and playing cards. She especially enjoyed playing poker. She loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: 4 Children – Sharon Everson of Elwood, Rick (Judy) Everson of Elwood, Mary (Rick) Smith of Elwood, and Angie (Kevin) Wycoff of Elwood; Sister – Janie Sailers of Muncie;
Brother – Thomas Toney of Frankton: 10 Grandchildren – Scott Hahn, Shaun Hahn, Lisa Stickler, Chuck (Kim) Everson, Kathy Adams, Rachael (Robert) Turpin, Ashley (Danny) Collier, Kayla Wycoff, Kyle Wycoff, and Christopher Wycoff; 11 Great-grandchildren – RayAnn, Ryan, Danielle, Justin, Hannah, Ty, Brandon, Tyler, Kristi, Ella, and Annie; 4 Great-great-grandchildren – Levi, Noble, Mason, and Riley; and several nieces and nephews.
Imogene was preceded in death by her: Parents; Husband who died January 10, 2009 – Frances E. Everson; Son – Bruce Everson; 10 Siblings – Rosemary Wilson, Helen Hamilton, Eva Wilson, Lucille Mountcastle, Dorothy Galbreath, Sophie Sullivan, Patsy Grondin, George Toney, Naomi Lawson, and Sonny Wilson; and a Grandson – Jadd Everson.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday January 13, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Dare of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
