Obituary

Helen W. Readnour, age 83 of Elwood, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood after a brief illness. Helen was born on April 14, 1929 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Hansell and Bessie (Taylor) Davis. She retired in April of 1989 from Arvin Automotive Components in Columbus after more than 35 years of employment. She married Oscar F. Readnour on December 22, 1951. Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hartsville, Indiana. She formerly enjoyed working on various crafting projects and enjoyed reading. Helen especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Helen's family includes 4 children, Sue Readnour of Colorado Springs, CO, Linda (husband Steve) Gatewood of Elwood, David Readnour of Brewersville, and Donald Readnour of Elwood; 6 grandchildren, Chris (wife Tonnie) Lane, Jodi Lane, Erika (husband David) Brown, Brenna (husband Craig) Durbin, Kyle (wife Dawn) Readnour, and Travis (Michelle) Readnour; 6 great-grandchildren, Taylen Lane, Peyton Brown, Ethan Brown, Kevin Readnour, Miles Readnour, and Callie Readnour; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 30 years Oscar F. Readnour who died in 1981; 3 brothers, Marshall Davis, Edward Davis, Roy Davis; and 6 sisters Mary Waterman, Hazel Davis, Minnie Turner, Virginia Lamb, Martha Brough, and Barbara Steele.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday March 7, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Garner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Union Presbyterian Cemetery in Decatur County. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
