Helen I. (Conwell) Groover, age 98 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel following a brief illness but a long, full life. She was born August 7, 1920 in Elwood, the daughter of Homer and Vivian (Starr) Conwell. Helen was a graduate of Windfall High School. She married the love of her life, Russell R. Helen was a homemaker for many years, and had formerly worked at Murphy's Dime Store, J.C. Penney, T-Way, and Parkview Nursing Home all in Elwood through the years. She also was a home caregiver for many years in the Elwood area. Helen enjoyed dining out, and she especially liked MCL Cafeteria and Friendly's Restaurant. She enjoyed playing the keyboard, organ, and Hawaiian guitar. She also worked crossword puzzles her entire life and never passed up a good rummage sale. More than anything, Helen loved her family very much and treasured the time she spent with them.

Helen was preceded in death by both her parents; husband, Russell Groover; and son, Larry Groover, Sr.
