Griffin A.
Debaun
Feb 26, 1996 — Jul 23, 2024
Griffin Alexander DeBaun , age 28 of Elwood, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis following a beautiful, blessed life. He was born Feb 26, 1996 in Indianapolis, the son of Jon H. and Joy L. (Bohlander) DeBaun. Griffin was a 2014 graduate of Tipton High School and continued his education at Ivy Tech College with an associate degree in agriculture. He worked at Vermeer Midwest in Fishers as a parts specialist for 7 years, and he absolutely loved his job and his work family. After many years of dating, Griffin married the true love of his life, Landyn P. Cooper, on Nov 4, 2023, and he cherished her with all his heart. Griffin was baptized as a baby at Riley Hospital shortly after birth on Feb. 29, 1996 and survived years of heart related challenges through his entire life. He was a member of East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood where he enjoyed attending the Heartland Great Banquet, Men's Saturday fellowship, and Sunday School.
In high school, Griffin was an active member of the Tipton FFA. He was also an accomplished bowler, bowled in numerous state tournaments and several youth leagues at Lucky Strike Lanes. Griffin loved hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed reading and learning new skills from YouTube videos. Griffin loved cooking – especially on his smoker where he was known for making delicious macaroni and cheese. Sitting in his favorite recliner, he also loved watching "Meat Church" and Facebook shorts for entertainment. Griffin enjoyed learning about finances and economics and appreciated Dave Ramsey's management courses. He was a lifetime fan of the Green Bay Packers. Griffin ALWAYS had something to say even if the conversation didn't include him, he would for sure tell you what he thought. His advice even if it was unwanted, will be deeply missed. More than anything, Griffin loved spending time with his family and friends and they will greatly miss his orneriness and infectious giggle. His family is comforted knowing he has a new perfect body and health in Heaven.
Griffin's family includes his wife, Landyn DeBaun of Elwood; parents, Jon and Joy DeBaun of Elwood; brother, Logan (wife Sydney) DeBaun and their son, Owen, of Tipton; grandmother, Marge Bohlander of Elwood; father and mother in-law, Calvin and Angel Cooper of Sheridan; brother-in-law, Colton Cooper; grandparents-in-law, Debbie Burtron and Mary Cooper; great-grandmother in-law, Shirley Kinkaed; beloved dogs, "Ginger" and "Moe"; and many extended family members.
