Gregory L. Thompson, age 64 of Alexandria, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne following a brief illness. He was born May 16, 1962 in Anderson the son of Richard “Dick” Thompson and Patsy (Poole) Hodson. Greg attended Alexandria Monroe High School. Greg will be remembered for his independent spirit, love of the outdoors, and the simple joy he found in living life his own way. He enjoyed being outdoors and taking part in all types of outdoor activities. One of Greg’s greatest passions was hunting with his beloved coonhounds, especially Abe. His dogs were more than just hunting companions; they were an important part of his life and brought him many hours of enjoyment and cherished memories.

Greg lived life on his own terms and stayed true to himself. His love of the outdoors, his passion for his coonhounds, and the memories he made along the way will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Greg is survived by his daughter, Hiedi (Chuck) Bell of Tipton; granddaughter, Addie Gilson; brother, Todd Thompson of Angola; sister, Jill (Mike) Hensley of Greensburg; three nieces; three great-nieces; and one great-nephew. Greg is preceded in death by his parents, and his step-father, James Hodson.
