Obituary

Gene R. Lorensberg, age 69 and a longtime resident of Windfall, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at his residence following a sudden illness.  He was born on July 17, 1947 in Roslyn, South Dakota, the son of Carl and Hazel (Johnson) Lorensberg.  Gene was a truck driver and worked in the warehouse for Trojan Seed Company and Pfizer Incorporated for many years, and later retired as a truck driver from Rosen's Corporation in 2011.  He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in South Dakota.  Gene was a 1965 graduate of Rosyln High School in South Dakota, and later attended Ivy Tech College for HVAC and Electrical Technology in 1983.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, and was very proud of his service.  He married Jackie S. Procter on November 4, 1972, and they shared over 44 years of marriage together.  Gene was a member of the Tipton American Legion and formerly the Windfall American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing and traveling.  More than anything, Gene loved and was devoted to all of his family.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
