Obituary

Gary W. Moore , age 68 of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born March 28, 1955 in Terre Haute, the son of Wayne "Otto" and Emmabelle (Botner) Moore.  Gary was a 1973 graduate of Plainfield High School and attended both Ball State University and IUPUI.  He married Janie Sparks on November 21, 2021.  Gary worked in skilled trades and was an inspection clerk in quality control for Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis for over 25 years, and retired July 1, 2020.  He attended Plainfield Christian Church for many years.

Gary was an energetic person with many hobbies.  He was an avid and skilled model builder and enjoyed attending shows where he often won awards.  Gary built and operated model R/C planes and go-carts for many years.  He especially enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle which he considered his "wind therapy".  Gary lived in the same home for 43 years and was known for being a good neighbor and friend to many.  He was very caring and always looked out for others, often sharing in generous ways.  Gary was also very musically inclined and enjoyed playing the piano, keyboard and several stringed instruments.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gary's family includes his wife, Janie Moore of Plainfield; 5 children, Brooke (Cosmo) Biasillo, Jacob (Rosie) Moore, Jeremy Shock, Travis (Christy) Sparks, and Shereé (Eddy) Lindsay; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; beloved aunt, Audra G. Tuer; and special pets, dog "Haley" and  cat "Louie".  Gary was preceded in death by both his parents; sister, Pamela Jill Moore; and his first wife, Patricia (Anderson) Moore.

Honoring Gary's wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life service will be conducted at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
