Sep 28, 1950 — Mar 6, 2022
Gary S. Jones , age 71 of Fishers and formerly of Anderson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at his home after a brief illness. He was born September 28, 1950 in Anderson, the son of Donald Lee and Jacqueline (Ball) Jones. Gary was a 1968 graduate of Madison Heights High School and later graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor's Degree in business. Gary was the owner and operator of his own commercial supply business, Express Supply in Fishers for over 15 years and retired in 2019. He was a Master Mason and member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge in Anderson.
Gary enjoyed his life to the fullest. He spent nearly every weekend on his house boat at Fourwinds Marina on Lake Monroe. He proudly referred to himself as "The Captain" of his boat, and he especially enjoyed riding his wave runners. Gary loved nothing more than having a drink with friends and family and listening to classic rock or golden oldies music. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Purdue, and the Indianapolis Colts. Gary's life and legacy will never be forgotten.
Gary's family includes his companion of 13 years, Cynthia May of Fishers; two children, Linzi Jones of Fishers and Donald "Donnie" (wife Andrea) Jones of Lawrence; step-daughter, Abbey (husband Jordan) Craft of Noblesville; two brothers, Danny (wife Rene) Jones of Anderson and Monty (wife Tracy) Jones of Anderson; two grandchildren, Makinzi Jones and Dean Jones; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service celebrating Gary's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Chris Duckworth of New Joy Lutheran Church officiating along with Gary's good friend, Phil Vickers speaking. The service will start with a Masonic Lodge memorial ritual. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the memorial service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
