Frances L. Lake, age 85 of Alexandria, died Sunday, September 04, 2011 at the Alexandria Care Center in Alexandria following an extended illness. She was born December 7, 1925 in Indianapolis, the daughter of George and Lola (Collins) Harrell. She was a homemaker most of her life. She married Thomas R. Lake on February 23, 1941. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood. She was known for being a very compassionate person, and she enjoyed reading.
Survivors include: Daughter – Judy Hanson of Elwood; 2 Sons – Tommy Lake of Pheonix, AZ and Phillip Lake of Brandon, MS; 7 Grandchildren – Sue Anderson of Atlanta, Phyllis Denney of Elwood, Tina Jones of Indianapolis, William Ebersole of Mississippi, Thomas Lake III of Indianapolis, Shannon Parker of Indianapolis, and Tammy Parks of Brandon, MS; 13 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband who died March 8, 2008 – Thomas R. Lake; Sister – Helen O'Grady; and infant sister; 2 Grandchildren – Theresa Thornhill and Teresa Guyton.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood with Father Phil Haslinger officiating. Visitation will be held from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Wednesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood prior to the funeral. Burial will take place in Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Noel Mission or St. Jude's Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
