Obituary

Frances M. Hook, age 86, of Alexandria, died March 14, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospice Center in Indianapolis after a brief illness. Frances was born May 9, 1926 in Anderson to Frank and Charlotte (Qualters) Ripberger. She married Archie M. Hook on June 12, 1954. She retired in 1955 from Guide Lamp Corporation in Anderson where she had worked for more than 10 years in production. Frances was a 1944 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Anderson. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood, and formerly active in the Shiloh Ladies Aid and was a volunteer for the Madison County 4-H Program. She and her husband, Archie, formerly enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, and also enjoyed spending time at Dewart Lake. She enjoyed music and playing cards - especially euchre.

Frances' family includes 2 children, Marie (husband Richard) Symmes of Anderson, and Carolyn (husband David) LeCount of Elwood; daughter-in-law, Judy (husband Dan) Ginder of Alexandria; 6 grandchildren, Ben (wife Angie) LeCount, Ed LeCount, Michelle (husband Michael) Boles, Melissa Mahoney, Ryan (wife Whitney) McAtee, and Brayden Ginder ; 11 great-grandchildren, Carly Mahoney, Ashley LeCount, Jacob Cottey, Cody LeCount, Matthew Cottey, Breanna Boles, Alex Cottey, Caitlynn Mahoney, Brooklynn Boles, Anna LeCount, and Camden McAtee ; 3 sisters-in-law, Betty Abel of Anderson, Florence Daily of Forsythe, MO, and Pauline Hook of Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of more than 47 years, Archie M. Hook who died May 10, 2002; and a son, Robert Hook who died January 10, 1992.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood with Father Bob Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 PM Monday, March 18, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood, and will include a 7:00 PM Rosary Service.
