Obituary

Florence L. Norris, age 86 of Elwood, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013, surrounded by her family at Edgewater Woods Nursing Home in Anderson after an extended illness. She was born on February 4, 1927 in Perkinsville, the daughter of William "Bill" and Harriett (McCord) Harless. She was a homemaker most of her life. Florence married Clarence D. Norris on May 22, 1945. She liked to play cards, especially Euchre and Rook. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family for many years; and enjoyed canning and making preserves. Florence especially loved listening to gospel and country music, and was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts.

Florence's surviving family includes 5 children, David (wife Judy) Norris of Frankton, Dan (wife Cheryl) Norris of Greentown, Sharon Blackford of Elwood, Theresa (husband Gary) Taylor of Anderson, and Rita (husband Greg) Borum of Frankton; 2 step-children, Izel Norris of Russellville, AR and Marie Brock of Madison; 10 grandchildren, Christy (husband Keith) McCool, Dwayne (wife Jennifer) Norris, Matt (wife Alicia) Norris, Missy Norris-Phifer, Joe (wife Linda) Alther, Angie
(husband Brandon) Mitchell, Jackie (Nathan) Blackford-Marsh, Chad Norris, Ashley Borum and Dustin Blackford; 10 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 14 step-great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Bill and Angel Huntsman; and beloved dog "Daisy".

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of more than 34 years, Clarence D. Norris who died December 3, 1979; sister, Margaret Norris; 2 brothers, Otis Harless and Tony Harless; and son-in-law Jack Blackford.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Jeff Haill of Solid Rock Full Gospel Ministries officiating. Burial will follow in Carey Cemetery in Noblesville. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
