Evelyn "Sue" McCartney, age 78 of Elwood passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Villa Park, IL following a brief illness. She was born July 11, 1936 in Indianapolis, the daughter of James D. and Ada (Fisher) Wallace. Sue was self-employed until recently, cleaning homes and businesses in the Elwood community for more than 20 years. She also formerly worked as a hairdresser earlier in her life. Sue was a 1954 graduate of Noblesville High School and later attended the Apex Hairdresser's School in Anderson. She formerly worked at the Eagles Lodge in Alexandria and the Elwood Country Club for several years. She especially enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Sue's family includes a son, Michael J. McCartney of Fort Recovery, OH; daughter, Rhonda (husband William) Shelby of Villa Park, IL; 6 grandchildren, Robert "Rob"(wife Shannon) McCartney, David (wife Kelly) McCartney, Joe McCartney, Nicci (husband Richard) Brown, Matthew Hernandez, and Timothy Hernandez; and 6 great-grandchildren, Elijah McCartney, Madison McCartney, Wyatt McCartney, Jonah McCartney, Noah McCartney, and Emma Myers. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ray Wallace; and sister, Bonnie Wallace.

Following cremation, a graveside memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Elwood City Cemetery with members of her family speaking.
