Ellen K.
Drummond
Jan 17, 1945 — Apr 8, 2021
Ellen K. Drummond , age 76 of Elwood, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Alexandria Care Center. Ellen's husband, Bill Drummond, passed away just 33 hours after Ellen passed. She was born January 17, 1945 in Elwood, the daughter of Ralph and Emma (Todd) Scott, Sr. Ellen attended Elwood schools, and later married the love of her life, Billie M. "Bill" Drummond on July 15, 1961. She was a homemaker all of her life and truly enjoyed caring for her family. Ellen was a loyal member of Grace Baptist Church in Anderson where she formerly taught Sunday school for many years. Ellen enjoyed a relatively simple life, and in her free time she liked crocheting, quilting, and shopping with her daughter. She especially enjoyed being at home with her family. Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family. Her family finds comfort knowing she has been reunited with many beloved family members in Heaven.
Ellen's family includes her daughter, Darlene (husband Melvin) Wittkamper of Alexandria; sister, Elaine Waymire of Orestes; granddaughter, Megan (husband Chad) Welsh of Pendleton; grandson, Devin (wife Carly) Wittkamper of Muncie; 2 great-granddaughter's, Mallory Welsh and Macy Welsh; and several nieces and nephews.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph Scott, Jr.; infant granddaughter, Mallorie Wittkamper; grandson, David K. Wittkamper; brother-in-law, Jack Waymire; and two great-grandchildren.
A combined funeral service celebrating the lives of both Ellen and her husband, Bill Drummond, will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church (432 W. 300 North, Anderson, IN 46012) with Dr. Daniel Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Forrestville Cemetery in rural Summitville. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday prior to the funeral at Grace Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Grace Baptist Church Tracts Fund (in memory of David Wittkamper) through the funeral home or the church.
