Earl Clark, age 70 and a life-long resident of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood after an extended illness. He was born December 26, 1944 in Elwood, the son of Hiram Bennett and Thelma (Brummett) Clark. He formerly worked at a manufacturing company in Elwood for several years. Despite his vision disability, he led a very fulfilling and enjoyable life. Earl was known for having a great sense of humor and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed being outdoors; playing games with the kids in the family; and joking with everyone.
Earl's family includes 3 brothers, Robert Clark of Elwood, Fred Clark of Tennessee, and Bill (wife Patty) Clark of Tipton; several nieces and nephews including special caretakers, Roxie (husband Rob) Fred of Elwood, Ben (wife Christy) Clark of Elwood, Connie (husband Harold) Heater of Elwood, and Tom (wife April) of Tipton; special great niece, Hope Fred of Elwood; and great-nephew, Darek Clark of Elwood. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Bennett Clark, Timothy Clark, and Rexie Clark; sister, Bonna Willhoite; and sister-in-law, Barbara Clark.
A funeral service celebrating Earl's life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home with Rev. Sue Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilkens Cemetery in rural Tipton County. Visitation for family and friends will be held from noon to 2 PM at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
