Obituary

Dwayne L. Mosbaugh , age 58 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023 at his home following an extended illness.  He was born Aug. 10, 1965 in Anderson, the son of Wayne C. and Denise E. (Harbit) Mosbaugh.  Dwayne was a 1983 graduate of Elwood Community High School and then earned an associate degree from Vincennes University.  He worked several years during high school at Jim Dandy Restaurant in Elwood.  Dwayne worked as a journeyman Tool & Die Maker all of his career and last worked at Fortville Feeder Company before retirement.  He was an avid sports and racing fan and always rooted for the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon.  Dwayne had a dynamic personality; never knew a stranger; and always had a great sense of humor.  He was the center of any social situation and remained close to many friends he knew since high school.  Dwayne loved his family very much, and he will never be forgotten.

Dwayne's family includes his mother, Denise Mosbaugh of Elwood; two children, Hannah M. Mosbaugh of Fishers and Ethan W. Mosbaugh of Florida; former step-son, Braden Loepke; niece, Brooke Mosbaugh (Cian Rice); two nephews, Raleigh Mac Mosbaugh and Roman Mosbaugh; two aunts, Marie Mosbaugh and Dawn Mosbaugh; cousins, Heidi Puckett, Sara Robinson, and Jeff (Brandi) Mosbaugh; and longtime special friends, Todd & Nancy McGuire of Elwood.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, Wayne C. Mosbaugh; brother, Brett H. Mosbaugh; maternal grandparents, Edgar and Virginia Harbit; paternal grandparents, Richard Mosbaugh and Marian Ebert; two uncles, Dick Mosbaugh and Lynn Mosbaugh; and a cousin, Laura Savage.

A Life Celebration visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Burial will take place privately at the Elwood City Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Elwood Animal Shelter or the Elwood A.A.
