Doris Elizabeth “Betty” Kohn, age 78, formerly of Elwood, departed this life with grace and serenity at her home on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 after a brief illness. She was born on March 15, 1948, in Flora, Indiana, to Ray and Mildred (Osborne) Pullen. A proud 1966 graduate of Wendell L. Wilkie High School, she later flourished as a Real Estate Agent for the Wayne Doan Agency in Elwood. Betty was a devoted member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She delighted in the simple and splendid things of life - whether she was immersed in a good book, discovering treasures on QVC, staying attuned to the latest fashions, or simply finding joy in her daily routines. Above all, she cherished the countless adventures and treasured moments spent traveling, camping, auctions, and auto racing with her ex-husband and friend for 31 years, Larry Murray, whose companionship was among her greatest joys.

Doris’s surviving family includes her friend and caretaker, Larry Murray of Elwood; 2 sisters, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mildred (Osborne) Pullen.

Betty’s celebration of life was held at the Elwood Elks Lodge on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, with Pastor Stan Alvey officiating. A private graveside service was held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora, Indiana. Doris’s arrangements were entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home of Elwood.
