Doris C. Dague, age 86 of Elwood, died December 15, 2011 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood after a brief illness. She was born February 28, 1925 in Elwood, the daughter of Lee A. and Martha (Stage) McGuire. Doris married Morris E. Dague on June 25, 1946. She was a homemaker most of her life and formerly worked at Fettig's Canning Factory in Elwood. She formerly attended the First Missionary Baptist Church in Elwood. Doris enjoyed spending time in Tampa, Florida throughout the year, and also had a small jewelry business. She enjoyed doing needlework and watching television.
Survivors include: Brother – Harold L. McGuire of Santa Maria, CA; Step-Sister – Betty Wallace of Anderson; and devoted friend – Dorothy "Dot" Holliday (companion Philip Rigdon) of Elwood. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Morris E. Dague who died April 22, 1979; 2 Brothers – William J. McGuire and Charles "Bus" McGuire; and Son – Morris Andrew Dague who died at birth.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday December 20, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Josh Carney of the First Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
