Donna Sue Sallee , age 71 of Alexandria, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a series of health complications and a brief battle with cancer.  She was born November 22, 1949 in Glasgow, Kentucky, the daughter of Lloyd Beck and Mary Elizabeth Gibson.  Donna attended Highland (Seventh Day Adventist) Academy in Portland, Tennessee and later attended culinary school in Indianapolis for two years.  She also worked as a medical assistant for a short time early in life.  Donna loved cooking, and she worked as a cook and chef at many prominent hotels and facilities through the years.  Her last position was with the downtown Indianapolis Hilton as a chef.  Donna loved spending time with her family and cooking delicious meals.  She also enjoyed reading, watching Jeopardy, and crocheting.  Donna truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, and she will be greatly missed by her family.

Her family includes daughter, Krista Sallee (fiance' Shane Conwell) of Alexandria; 4 siblings, Thomas Sanders of Alexandria, Charles (wife Wanda) Beck of Chattanooga, TN, Faye (husband Darrell) Merideth of Hendersonville, TN, and Alvin (wife Regina) Beck of Gallatin, TN; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Sallee, Jaqueline Sallee, Dylan Conwell, and Jada Vincent; and several nieces and nephews.  Donna was preceded in death by her father; mother, step-mother, Ester Beck; and a sister, Carlene Holtzclaw.

Donna's wishes were to be cremated.  A life celebration service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Beulah Park in Alexandria.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Donna's arrangements were entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
