Donna Lee
Hancock
Aug 7, 1955 — Dec 27, 2023
Donna Lee Hancock , age 68 of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023 at Ascension - St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood. She was born Aug. 7, 1955 in Noblesville, the daughter of James D. and Emogene (Rice) Ledford. Donna was a 1973 graduate of Noblesville High School. She married John L. Hancock on March 17, 1989, and they shared over 34 years of marriage together. Donna truly loved taking care of her family and being there for them whenever they needed her. She was the research queen when it came to genealogy and her family roots. Donna could trace both John and her families back many generations.
She liked to play crossword puzzles, craft, and stay connected with her family on her iPad. Donna found the good in Facebook by keeping in touch with all her family members. She was proud to have kicked her habit of smoking and creating a new, healthier habit of eating "Smarties". Donna cherished spending time with her grandchildren and her fur babies; and she especially found peace watching hummingbirds outside of her window. More than anything, Donna will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Donna's family includes her husband, John Hancock of Elwood; 4 children, Tracey (Chad) Presley of Noblesville, Joshua Hancock of Mooresville, Kathryn "Katie" Hancock (Jason Flick) of Anderson, and Jacob Hancock of Anderson; 2 siblings, Jeff (Nancy) Ledford of Oklahoma, and Debra (Bruce) Mcintyre of Westfield; 7 grandchildren, Kaley Presley, Shaley Hancock, Tori Presley, Xazier Flick, Jalen Hancock, Ayden Hancock, and Kai Jobe; a great-grandchild expected in 2024; 2 special pets, Thumbalina and Odie; 6 fur-grandbabies, Ace, Jax, Milo, Meathead, Draco, and Princess; and several nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tyler Jobe; and 2 special dogs, Isabella, and Hemi.
Donna's wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home to help offset unexpected funeral expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.
