Donna M. Brummet, age 69 and a longtime resident of Elwood, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at her home following complications related to diabetes.  She was born December 28, 1949 in Frankton, the daughter of Donald and Belvie (Shipley) Holder.  She was a 1967 graduate of Frankton High School and later attended Business College for two years.  Donna married Loren "Herb" Brummet on June 22, 1968, and they shared 51 years of marriage together.  She retired in 1998 from the Elwood Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) where she worked as an administrative assistant for over 10 years.  She retired due to her health.  Donna also formerly worked at Fort Benjamin Harrison in administration for several years.  Donna loved the Lord and was a member of East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and formerly canning vegetables with her mother.  Donna had a passion for shopping and especially enjoyed the Christmas season.  She also enjoyed traveling with her family and just recently took a wonderful trip to Chicago with all her family.  Donna will always be remembered for being a very loving and giving person who never hesitated to help others.

Donna's family includes her husband, Loren "Herb" Brummet of Elwood; sons, Matt Garner of Elwood and William "Bill" (wife Lisa) Maxey of Elwood; 2 sisters, Janie (husband Joe) Stafford of Frankton, and Doris Jane Braddock of Frankton; 4 grandchildren, Alexis Maxey, Jessie Maxey, Samantha Maxey, and Shelby Bohanon; 2 brothers-in-law, Steven Brummet and Jerry (wife Charlotte) Brummet; sister-in-law, Linda (husband John) Simmons; several nieces and nephews including a very close niece, Donna Lee; and 4 beloved dogs, Scooter, Harley, Maddie, and Cocoa.  Donna was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jason Brummet in 2014; daughter-in-law, Nicole Garner in 2018; adopted son, Wayne Ogden; and 3 beloved dogs, Megan, Tuck, and Downer.

A funeral service celebrating Donna's life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 to 2 pm on prior to the funeral on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.   Memorial contributions are suggested to East Main Street Christian Church through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
