Obituary

Donna M. Beeman, age 82 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2017 at Wellbrooke of Westfield following a brief illness.  She was born on January 7, 1935 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Buell J. and Dorothy A. (Underwood) Plummer.  Donna worked as an Executive Secretary in office administration for 26 years at Air Foil Textron Corporation in Elwood, and retired in 1990.  She was a 1953 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School, and married the love of her life, Max E. Beeman, on April 22, 1953.  They shared over 43 years of marriage together until his passing on July 7, 1996.  Donna was a longtime member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Elwood.  She was a former volunteer at Mercy Hospital in the gift shop for several years.  Donna especially enjoyed reading and shopping.  More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family.  The family would like to thank the Community Home Care Hospice, and the staff of Wellbrooke of Westfield for the care they provided to Donna.

Donna's family includes 2 sons, Gary Beeman of Anderson and Mark (wife Cassie) Beeman of Elwood; daughter, Moira (husband David) Silvey of Elwood; brother, Robert Plummer of Bedford; 3 sisters, Nancy Christian of McCordsville, Eileen (husband Tim) Gordon of Greely, CO, and Joan (husband Walter) Wolfe of Anderson; 8 grandchildren, Jon Beeman, Marcie Muensterman, Bryan Helm, Audra Lembke, Benjamin Helm, Melissa Rex, Matthew Helm, and Beth Kline; and 7 great-grandchildren, Kason, Max, Jude, Nathan, Makenna, Hannah, Jack and another expected in 2017.  Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A graveside service celebrating Donna's life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Elwood City Cemetery in Elwood with the Reverend Harold Smith, Episcopal Priest at St. Stephens Church in Elwood, officiating.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Stephens Episcopal Church through the funeral home.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
