Donald Eugene Peters, Sr., age 66 of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following an extended illness. He was born on January 18, 1949 in Elwood, the son of Donald G. and Donna (Jackson) Peters. He was retired from Wal-Mart in Noblesville where he worked in the stock department. He also formerly worked at Brockway Glass Company in Lapel for nearly 10 years. Don was baptized in Elwood, and attended Elwood schools. He enjoyed collecting glassware, toys, and coins. More than anything, he loved to play Bingo in Elwood and surrounding communities.

Don's surviving family includes one son, Donald E. (wife Dee Dee) Peters, Jr. of Indianapolis; 2 daughters, Amber (husband Kevin) Height-Martin of Elwood and Elizabeth Brough of Fort Wayne; sister, Doris Ann (husband David) Atkinson of Noblesville; 6 grandchildren, Maria Hoffman-Bishop, Kenneth Mowery, Crystal Mowery, Cheyenne Height, Jordan Height, and Christine Craig; 8 great-grandchildren, Masyn, Mychal, Keaton, Dominyc, Brailynn, Kaysen, Zoey, and Justice; and nieces & nephews, Brandy Hartley, Crystal McCord, Samantha McCord, and Michael Teele. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Diana Austin; and a grandson, Kevin Martin, Jr.

Funeral services celebrating Donald's life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Celebrant Chuck Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Forrestville Cemetery in rural Summitville. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
