Donald M. Davis , age 75 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023 at his residence following a brief illness.  He was born March 14, 1948 in Warsaw, the son of Burley William and Viginia Emma (Loy) Davis.  Don was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War.  He worked for many years as a railroad construction worker for Penn Central Rail Roads.  Don faithfully watched Shepherd's Chapel church every Sunday on television.  He enjoyed traveling (especially to Yuma, Arizona), fishing, hiking, and visiting different state parks.  Don felt strongly for fellow veterans, and he contributed generously to many Veteran causes including Wreaths Across America, Quilts of Valor, and many more.

Don is survived by son, Donald William Davis; 3 siblings, Doyle Davis of Elwood; Myra (Ron) West of Tennessee and Marsha Frye of Tennessee; special friends, Virginia and Larry Denton; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded by his parents; brother, Dale Davis; and sister, Marla Davis.

Donald's wishes were to be cremated with no formal services.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home has been entrusted with Don's arrangements, and online condolences may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
