Donald "Rex" Cooper, age 72 – a lifelong resident of Elwood, died October 1, 2011 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood after an extended illness. He was born March 8, 1939 in Anderson Indiana, the son of Colby H. and Martha "Jane" (Clark) Cooper. He was self-employed as a lawn mower repairman for many years and retired in 2001. He attended New Lancaster School. Rex loved auctions and attending flea markets in his spare time. He was an avid dog lover, and especially loved his dog "Trixie".
Survivors include: Sister – Marilou Cooper of Elwood; Brother – James (and wife Pam) Cooper of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents and a Brother – Kenneth and wife Julia Cooper.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the K. of P. – I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton with Chaplin Rob Mifflin of Community Home Health Services officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, 1509 South D Street, Elwood, IN 46036. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.
