Obituary

Diann M. Coston , age 56 of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born December 7, 1968 in Elwood, the daughter of Robert and Betty (Wittkamper) Stockdale.  Diann was a 1988 graduate of Elwood Community High School.  She married the love of her life, Max L. Coston, Jr. on November 12, 1989, and they shared over 34 years of marriage together before his sudden passing in 2024.  Diann worked for over 15 years at Dollar General in Alexandria and more than 5 years at Harvest Market in Elwood.  She also formerly worked briefly in the dietary department at Elwood Health and Living.

Diann was a member of Redemption Church of God in Elwood.  She loved being a supportive wife, mother, and most recently - a devoted grandmother.  Diann enjoyed going to get her nails done, working in her yard, and watching the "Waltons" on television.  She absolutely adored her family and they will cherish the time they spent together.  Diann's family finds peace knowing that she is reunited in Heaven with her sweetheart, Max.

Diann's family includes her mother, Betty Stockdale of Elwood; 3 children, Dylan (Candice) Coston of Elwood, Erika (Trevor) Leming of Elwood, and Logan (Rachel) Coston of Elwood; mother-in-law, Sharon K. Coston of Elwood; 3 siblings, Belinda (Glenden) Holiday of Frankton, Mark Stockdale of Alabama, and Brian (Susan) Stockdale of Washington; 3 grandchildren, Cooper Coston, Darrien Coston, and Camryn Coston; and several nieces and nephews.  Diann was preceded in death by her father, Robert Stockdale; beloved husband, Max L. Coston, Jr. on May 9, 2024; granddaughter, Aniyah; and father-in-law, Max Coston, Sr.

A funeral service celebrating Diann's life and legacy will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Chris Ruder of Redemption Church of God officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 to 2 pm prior to the funeral on Tuesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.   Memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home to help offset expenses.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
