Diana Lynn Jones, age 71, of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson, following a brief illness. She was born August 20, 1955, in Elwood, to Scott L. Zech and Donna (Nickles) Chambliss. Diana was a 1973 graduate of Madison Grant High School. She dedicated over a decade of her career to serving as a guard at the Department of Corrections in Pendleton. Diana was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Above all, Diana centered her life around her family. She was a constant, loving presence who never missed a chance to support her children and grandchildren, especially at their sporting events—always their biggest cheerleader and friend. She cherished family gatherings, outings, and simple moments spent together. Her home was a welcoming place, filled with laughter, warmth, and unconditional love.

Diana also enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and horseback riding. She had a zest for life, whether she was heading out to eat with loved ones, taking fun trips to the casino, or watching her favorite true crime shows. Diana’s genuine kindness and unwavering support left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who loved her.

Diana is survived by her mother, Donna Chambliss of Elwood; daughter, Karen (Jesse) White of Elwood; 4 siblings, Richard “Red” (Kim Henning) Zech of Texas, Deborah (Randy) Burton of Elwood, Lisa Cox of Elwood, and Dwight (Brenda) Zech of Alabama; 5 grandchildren, Ashly (Johnathon Griego) Jones of Elwood, Shayne Gonzalez of Evansville, Kylen Gonzalez of Fort Benning, GA, Korretta (Alec) Street of Frankfort, and Mackayla Gonzalez of Anderson; 5 great-grandchildren, Jazmin Griego, Alaina Griego, Jonathan Griego, Charlie Street, and Judith Street; and several nieces and nephews. Diana is preceded in death by her father; and brother, Michael Zech.

Diana’s family will host a celebration of her life at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the Quincy Masonic Lodge, 1136 N Anderson St, Elwood, IN 46036.
