Dessie M. "Lee" Stacy age 86, and a longtime resident of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Alexandria Care Center in Alexandria after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born February 3, 1929 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Leo Elbert and Marie Ella (Stevenson) Kennedy. She moved to Elwood in her teenage years, and attended Elwood schools. She married Kelley Stacy on December 9, 1961. Lee was a Homemaker all of her life, and enjoyed caring for her family. She also formerly worked at Stevens Spring Company in Elwood. She was a former member of the Elwood Moose Lodge and the Alexandria V.F.W. She and her husband enjoyed dancing at area events for many years. Lee was an avid quilter and enjoyed giving quilting lessons to many people over the years.

Lee's family includes 4 children, Kelly Shawn Stacy (companion Jeri Blackford) both of Fairmount, Ted Leo Sullivan of Sharpsville, Butch Teague of Anderson, and Bennie Mark Teague of Anderson; several grandchildren including Brandon Stacy; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of more than 42 years, Kelly Stacy who died in 2004; son, Terry Sullivan who died in 2014; and 2 sisters, Dee and Bea.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Elwood City Cemetery with Rev. Matt Miller of Hospice officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
