Obituary

Dennis W. Peace , age 63 of Indianapolis and formerly of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis following an extended illness.  He was born June 30, 1958 in Anderson, the son of Fred A. and Elinor A. (Etchison) Peace.  Dennis was a 1976 graduate of Madison Grant High School and later received an Associate's Degree in engineering.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army.  Dennis last worked for Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne for several years as a CNC programmer and engineer until his retirement due to health issues.  He formerly also lived in Thomasville, George and worked for TECT Corporation (a division of Textron) for 30 years as an engineer before moving back to Indiana.  Dennis married Tonya L. (Fitzgibbon) Deal on January 21, 2014, and they shared seven years of marriage together.

Dennis was known as a hard-working person who was very determined.  He loved playing golf, watching Notre Dame football, fishing, and playing poker online for the challenge.  He was a member of several golf clubs through the years where he lived.  More than anything, Dennis loved his family and treasured time spent with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dennis' family includes his wife, Tonya Peace of Indianapolis; daughter, Amanda (husband Jimmie) Carroll of Elwood; 2 brothers, Steven C. Peace of Fishers and Gary J. (wife Lorrie) Peace of Maynardville, TN; 2 beloved grandchildren, Brooklyn Carroll and Brayleigh Carroll; and several nieces and nephews.  Dennis was preceded in death by both his parents; his grandparents on both sides; and his brother, Craig Peace.

Dennis' wishes were to be cremated, and no formal services will be held at this time.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home has been entrusted with Dennis' final arrangements.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
