Delores "Charmaine" Leicht, age 78 of Gas City and formerly of Elwood, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in LaFontaine after an extended illness. She was born December 29, 1934 in Logansport, the daughter of Bill and Eileen (Peters) Williams. She was a 1952 graduate of Logansport High School and later graduated from the Chicago School of Nursing. Charmaine worked in the restaurant business most of her life - most recently at My Favorite Place and Wolf's Restaurant both in Elwood. She formerly owned Fox's County Kitchen in Fairmount for many years. She married Edward Leicht May 14, 1986. Charmaine was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Elwood. She was an avid outdoors person, and enjoyed fishing, canoeing, hiking and camping. She especially loved people and pets.
Charmaine's family includes a son, Gregory K. Fox of Gas City; 3 step-children, Edward E. Leicht, Jr., Christine (husband Willy) Thomason, and Marla Hughes all of Elwood; brother, Devearl "Dickie" Koger of the East Coast; 4 grandchildren, Sabrina (husband Tim) Butcher of Gas City, Derrick Robertson of Indianapolis, Corey Deckard of Elwood, and David Deckard of Elwood; great-grandson Tanner Butcher of Gas City; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; beloved uncle, Marshall Peters of FL; and former daughter-in-law, Anna Fox of Gas City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed Leicht who died October 29, 2000; and a daughter, Tonya Fox.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
