Deanna Sue Michael , peacefully passed away at the age of 57 on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at her home, lovingly surrounded by her family after an extended illness. Born on June 26, 1968, in Alexandria, she was the daughter of Tommy and Susan (Scherer) Thomas. Deanna graduated from Alexandria High School in 1986. On July 23, 1996, she married her soulmate, Jason Dion Michael and together, they shared over 25 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 2021. Deanna's life was a testament to quiet strength, devotion, and unwavering care for her family and all those around her. In addition to nurturing her loved ones, she also graciously served her community through part-time work at Hardee's, ELSA, and the Elwood High School Cafeteria. Deanna found joy in creativity, especially through crocheting and latch hook crafts, and she treasured simple moments at home, watching movies with her family. Though she preferred a close-knit circle of friends, her compassion and wisdom touched many lives. Always ready with gentle guidance or a willing ear, Deanna's kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband and daughter in Heaven.

Deanna's family includes; 2 daughters, Sarah Michael (Fiancé Taylor Faulstich) of Elwood, and Hanna Michael (close friend Darren Shipley) of Elwood; mother, Susan Thomas; sister, Dawn Cole-Thomas of Anderson; brother, Damon (Julia) Thomas of Texas; 2 nieces, Bree Cole, and Taylor Meek; 2 adopted-daughters, Amanda Payne (Fiancé Brandon Dolan) and Ashley Bear; 2 best-friends, Nancy Black, and Debbie Clabaugh; and special dog, "Dipstick".  Deanna is preceded in death by her father, Tommy Thomas; sister, Joy (Sam) Sexton; husband, Jason D. Michael; and daughter, Emily Marie Michael who passed away on February 12, 2025.
