David Edward Waymire, age 55 of Elwood, died July 11, 2011 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born May 2, 1956 in Elwood, the son of Edward D. and Betty L. (Elder) Waymire. He was a Maintenance Electrician at Delco Electronics in Kokomo for over 30 years, and retired in 2005. He was a 1974 graduate of Elwood Community High School and received certification from the ITT Technical Institute. He also attended Purdue University. He was a former member of the Quincy Masonic Lodge in Elwood and the Elwood Elks Lodge #368. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. David was an avid NASCAR and Purdue fan; liked Harley Davidson Motorcycles; and loved the mountains.

Survivors include: Mother – Betty L. (Elder) Waymire of Elwood; 2 Sons – Joshua D. Waymire of Indianapolis and Benjamin D. Waymire of Elwood; Brother – Timothy A. (wife Lisa) Waymire of Elwood; and beloved dog – "Bear".

He was preceded in death by his Father - Edward D. Waymire.

Visitation will be held for family and friends from 4 to 6 PM Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Cremation will follow the visitation, and burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to the Madison County Humane Society – 2229 Crystal Street, Anderson, IN 46016 or through the funeral home.
