David Earl Romine , age 71 of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness. He was born Nov. 21, 1952 in Anderson, the son of Earl Wayne and Naomi (Castor) Romine. Dave was a 1970 graduate of Highland Heights High School in Anderson. He married the love of his life, Margaret R. "Maggie" Perkins on June 12, 1971 and shared over 52 years of marriage together until her passing earlier this year. Dave worked in the Physical Plant at Anderson University for over 25 years, retiring in 2017. He also went back to school to earn a degree in massage therapy in 2002, and continued that passion for over 10 years. Dave was a former member of South Meridian Church of God in Anderson. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and just merely enjoying the beauty of nature. Dave enjoyed reading his deer hunting magazines regularly. He spent as much time with his family that he could, especially spoiling his grandchildren. Throughout his life, Dave had a truly deep faith in the Lord, and his family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited with his lovely wife, Maggie in Heaven.
David's family includes 2 children, Cathy (husband Raphael) Starr of Elwood, and James (wife Laney) Romine of Indianapolis; brother, Jerry (wife Sandy) Romine of Anderson; 6 grandchildren, Mia (husband Dietrich) Ney, Molly Romine, Maddy Machala, William Romine, Ben Romine, and Ian Hamilton; sister-in-law, Pam Romine of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret R. "Maggie" Romine on Feb. 22, 2024; brother, Terry Romine; and half-sister, Judy and husband Theron Hallock.
A funeral service celebrating David's life and faith will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with his son-in-law, Pastor Raphael Starr officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mounds State Park through the funeral home. Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
