David Mark Aldridge, age 62 of Elwood, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at St. John's Health System in Anderson after an extended battle with cancer. He was born April 9, 1949 in Elwood, the son of Wilford P. and Anna Mae (Hendrickson) Aldridge. He worked as a Production Supervisor for several companies, and retired from Aerotek Corporation in April of 2010 after many years of service. He was a 1967 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Indiana University. David was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He was a former member of the Elwood Elks Lodge # 368. He enjoyed playing golf, reading, listening to music – especially jazz music, and spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He was also an avid Notre Dame football fan.
Survivors include: Daughter – Tracy L. Aldridge of Frankton; and Son - Jonathon D. Aldridge of Elwood; 2 Sisters – Page Ann and husband Phil Fettig of Elwood and Carolyn and husband Lonnie Watson of Tipton; 2 Grandchildren – Emily Rose and Tyler Rose of Frankton; Sister-in-law - Pamela Aldridge of Elkhorn, NE; and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and Brother – Norman Aldridge.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 6:00 PM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Josh Carney of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Elwood officiating. Visitation will be held 1 to 6 PM Wednesday August 24, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. A graveside service and burial will be held Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by the Elwood V.F.W.
