Darlene L. Sullivan

Darlene L. Sullivan, age 100, lifelong resident of Elwood and most recently of Eastview, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at her son’s home in Eastview. Born May 10, 1926, in Elwood, she was the daughter of Glen and Lottie (Jackson) Harris. Darlene married Orbal S. Sullivan in 1958, and together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and devotion to family until his passing in 2001. A devoted member of Curtisville Christian Church for many years, Darlene’s faith was the foundation of her life and a guiding light for her family. As a homemaker, she dedicated herself to nurturing her loved ones and creating a warm, welcoming home. She expressed her love through countless acts of care—crocheting babydoll blankets for her grandchildren’s dolls, crafting cherished Christmas trees, and tending to her beautiful flower gardens with a gentle, patient hand. Darlene found joy in traveling with her son and daughter-in-law, especially on memorable cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. Through all the seasons of her life, nothing was more important to Darlene than her faith and her family, both of which she cherished above all else.

Darlene is survived by her son, Randy (Cheryl) Murdock of Eastview, KY; daughter, Madea Deanna Rominger of Kokomo; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 6 siblings; son, James L. Murdock; and son-in-law, Richard (Dick) Rominger.

A funeral service celebrating Darlene’s life and faith will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Gary Cornwell of Curtisville Chrisitan Church officiating. Entombment will follow in I.O.O.F Cemetery in Alexandria. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.
