Dale W. Murray, age 81 of Frankton, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born March 22, 1933 in Elwood, the son of Orville and Nellie (Benefiel) Murray. Dale worked in production at Delco Remy for 30 years and was later employed by Likens Farms for several years. Dale attended Walnut Grove Schools in the class of 1952 and later served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Nancy (Brown) Murray. Dale was a member of the Lapel Eagles Lodge, Farm Bureau, and the Frankton American Legion. He enjoyed caring for cattle, helping others, and was known for growing great tomatoes.
Dale is survived by his 5 children, Dale Edward "Eddie" Murray of Frankton, Rhonda April Murray of Hobbs, Cheryl Ann Daultrich of Middletown, Debbie Jessup of Fort Wayne, and Sandy Simpson of Anderson; 3 brothers, Eugene Murray of Elwood, Richard and wife Nancy Murray of Frankton, Phillip and wife Shere Murray of Florida; 2 sisters, Patricia A. Hall of Frankton and Virginia Tewell of Indianapolis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Murray who died in 1971; brother, Emery Murray; and sister, Juanita Leever; step-son, James Hutcheson.
A funeral service celebrating Dale's life will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, October 31, 2014 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood: and be followed by full Military Honors by the United States Military. Burial will take place in Neese Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
