Cynthia A. "Cindy" Faunce , age 80 of Elwood, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton following an extended illness. She was born November 12, 1938 in Elwood, the daughter of Claude and Rosalie (Albright) Kochman. She graduated in 1956 from Marion High School in Marion and attended Ball State College for one year. She formerly worked at ELSA Corporation in Elwood as a production tech for 5 years, and she retired in 2001. Cynthia married Albert R. Faunce on February 1, 2003, and they shared 12 years of marriage until his passing in 2015. She was known for having a very green thumb, and loved gardening both seasonal vegetables and flowers of all kinds. Cynthia had an indoor growing operation that she watched over regularly. She was also very artistic and creative, and she enjoyed making custom greeting cards, birthday cards, and chalk portraits for all her family. Cynthia was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers. She also kept up with current events and politics; listened to conservative talk radio; and was an avid supporter of Donald Trump. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Cynthia's family includes two daughters, Sherry D. Hyman of Elwood and Lori (husband Ron) Vandermotten of New Haven; two siblings, Carol L. Lewellen of Elwood and Kenneth Kochman of Elwood; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Vandermotten, Laine Vandermotten, and Cole (wife Marissa) Vandermotten; and 4 great-grandchildren, Braden, Ripley, Georgia, and Chloe. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert R. Faunce in 2015; and brother-in-law, Bob Lewellen.
Cremation will take place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May in Elwood. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Elwood Animal Shelter through the funeral home. Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
