Christopher L. Lynch , age 33 of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at I.U. Health Hospital in Indianapolis following complications from a liver transplant. He was born March 25, 1986 in Noblesville, the son of Donald and Brenda (Chapman) Lynch. Chris was a 2004 graduate of Hamilton Heights High School, and later attended Lincoln Technical College. He married the love of his life, Brittany Nicole Elliott on August 21, 2010. Chris received specialized training to become a corrections officer and was currently employed at the Madison County Jail. He truly loved being a corrections officer and was known for being an incredibly hard worker. He especially enjoyed spending time fishing and building guns with his dad and his son. Chris enjoyed many memorable vacations with his wife and family. In addition to having fun, he enjoyed spending time with his good friends and playing online games. When he was younger, Chris took karate training and also known for being adventurous with anything on wheels. He was always willing to lend a hand to anybody in need, and he truly cared about everyone he came in contact with. More than anything, Chris loved his family and absolutely adored being a father.
Chris's family includes his wife, Brittany Nicole Lynch of Elwood; 2 children, Kaden Lee Lynch (age 10) and Payson Grace Lynch (age 6) both at home; parents, Donald and Brenda Lynch of Noblesville; mother-in-law, Sheila Elliott of Elwood; maternal grandparents, Leon (wife Diana) Chapman of Noblesville; half-sister, Darla (husband Jeffrey) Ooley of Arcadia; half-brother, Donald (wife Camilla) Lynch of Arkansas; aunts and uncles, Ronald (wife Robin) Chapman, Rhonda (husband Gary) Ennis, Melissa (husband Billy) Minor, Deanna (husband John) Maren, and Helen Lynch; 2 brothers-in-law, Brandon Elliott and Dustin (wife Kim) Elliott; 4 nephews, Colton Elliott, Ian Ooley, Aaron Ooley, and Gavin Ooley; 2 nieces, Hayleigh Elliott and Kynzie Elliott; and numerous cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald (wife Mary) Lynch; maternal grandmother, Kay Skinner; father-in-law, Roy Elliott in 2019; and cousin, Michael Crooks.
A funeral service celebrating Christopher's life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of East Main Street Church in Elwood officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Officers from the Madison County Sheriff's Department will provide honors for Chris throughout the services. Memorial contributions are suggested to a fund to be established at a local bank for Chris' children through the funeral home. Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
