Chris R. Sheets, age 49 of Orestes, died unexpectedly March 31, 2001 at his residence in Orestes. He was born March 24, 1962 in Elwood the son of Walter D. Sheets and Anita J. (Shallenberger). He retired in 2003 as a self-employed Dermagraphic Artist at the Kravin Kolors Tattoo business. He attended Elwood schools and was a Christian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Lisa O. Hanford on September 17, 2003. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bow hunting, and trapping. He was known as an avid outdoorsman and an exceptional artist. He was also an animal lover and Tattoo enthusiast.

He was survived by: Wife – Lisa O. (Hanford) Sheets of Orestes; Father – Walter D. (Joyce) Sheets of Elwood; Mother – Anita J. Shallenberger-Johnson; 4 Children – Justin W. Troutman of Nashville, TN, Adreanne D. Tiller of Brandon, MS, Travis M. Coots of Westfield, and Stephen M. Sheets of Brandon, MS; 2 Brothers – Monty D. Sheets of Elwood and Robert D. Sheets of Anderson; Sister – Tia R. Shepherd of Peru; 4 Grandchildren; a Grandchild expected in 2011; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents – Doyle & Geraldine Sheets, and Maternal Grandparents – Earl & Margaret Shellenberger.

Cremation will take place, and a Memorial Service Celebration for family and friends will be held from 6 to 9 PM Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Birch Bayh Center located on North 19th Street in Elwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family. The family would like to thank all of Chris' family and friends for their support and kindness.
